Charlotte is North Carolina's largest city with about 730,000 residents and a metro area population of about 1.75 million. The city is primarily known for being a major U.S. financial center and for being home to the Charlotte Bobcats of the NBA and the Carolina Panthers of the NFL. But just ask any Charlotte fashionista what the city's best asset is, and she'll tell you it's the SouthPark Mall, located south of Downtown Charlotte. If you're looking for designer brands galore, look no further than SouthPark Mall. Over 175 stores and restaurants make SouthPark the largest shopping center in the Charlotte metropolitan area. Charlotte label lovers and visitors alike will appreciate the fact that they can fill their closets with brands like Burberry, Hermes, Kate Spade, Louis Vuitton, Michael Kors, St. John, Benetton, J. Jill, Juicy Couture, Lacoste, The Limited, Cole Haan, Nine West, Nordstrom, and Neiman Marcus, just to name a few.
Another popular mall in the Charlotte area is The Northlake Mall, located north of Downtown. Though not as label laden as the SouthPark Mall, Northlake is bright and spacious, and offers all of your favorite national brands, a range of delicious eateries and a 14-screen movie theater. Popular retailers here include Belk, Dillard's, Macy's, Ann Taylor Loft, Coldwater Creek, J. Crew, Bakers, The Body Shop, Sephora, The Children's Place, Gymboree, Anthropologie, Pottery Barn and Z Gallerie.
Other destinations around Charlotte you may find worthy of spending your hard earned shopping dollars at include Birkdale Village in Huntersville, NC. north of Charlotte. Birkdale Village features a line-up of stores that include Apricot Lane, Banana Republic, Francesca's Collections, Janie and Jack, LOFT, Williams-Sonoma and more. There is also the Carolina Place Mall in Pineville, SC. south of Charlotte. Carolina Place is home to some 130 stores, including Belk, Dillard's, and Macy's. If you're looking for the best shopping deals in Charlotte, be sure to check out the ever popular Concord Mills Mall in Concord, NC. Concord Mills is a huge mall that's part outlet and part traditional mall. The line-up of stores seems endless, and includes such favorites as Coach Factory Store, Aeropostale, Bass Pro Shops, Brook Brothers, Charlotte Russe, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, and many others. And if you happen to find yourself west of Charlotte in the city of Gastonia with kids in tow, be sure to stop by the Westfield Eastridge Mall. This is a nice family style mall with around 100 traditional stores including Aeropostal, Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, Dillard's, Motherhood Maternity and more.
