DIY Sensitive Skin Olive & Oat Face Mask

By Britni Farber, Beauty Editor

Beauty Cabana wants you to have soft, rested, GORGEOUS skin! Indulge in this simple beauty tip and put your skin at ease. Follow along for how to make our favorite Oatmeal Mask for sensitive skin.

Step one:

Cleanse your skin with a gentle face wash.

Step two:

Apply a thin layer of Pure Olive Squalene to your face.

Step three:

Combine unscented, unflavored, non-commercially processed oatmeal (organic oats or even colloidal oatmeal powder) to warm water and let the oats expand or absorb. You may choose to boil the oats to a “paste like” texture.  Wait for the oats to cool and apply in a consistent layer (over the Olive Squalene) and allow it to work its magic for 10 minutes.

Removal:

Use a warm soft cloth to soften the Oatmeal Mask and remove in small circular motions (having Olive Squalene as your base will make the removal easier). Or if you prefer to the let the Oatmeal Face Mask subdue in the shower/steam that will work as well.  Be ready to uncover healthy skin and reapply Olive Squalene for extra protection and moisture.

Beauty Cabana Thoughts:

Sensitive skin can be identified by redness, dryness, rosacea, eczema, and tight, burning sensations.  After a busy work week or long makeup wearing weekend, your face may feel the effects of the stress. So give it the TLC it deserves with our do-it-yourself olive & oat face mask.

A bit about the ingredients:

Olive Squalene has been used for centuries and dates back to biblical beauty routines. Olive Fruit, known for its absorption, skin healing properties, and moisture is an excellent choice for those of us with sensitive skin. Our bodies naturally produce small amounts of Squalene, which is why Olive Squalene works so well.  Its molecular formula absorbs quickly and effectively into our dermal layers, adding to our bodies’ natural hydration levels. Olive (as the source) has been said to heal topical skin ailments; Squalene is lightweight and suitable for all skin types, when used in small amounts.

Oats are beautiful. Perfectly made with proteins that nourish the skin, they are used in a wide variety of skin care treatments, cosmetics, hair care, and over the counter topical creams.  Oats are especially useful for heat rashes, eczema, and those who have oily skin and need something natural that will calm and absorb moisture.
