Macy's
Macy’s – Possibly the most well known department store in the country, this massive emporium is filled to the brim with apparel for the entire family, shoes, cosmetics, fragrances, accessories, home furnishings, small kitchen appliances-you name it and chances are that it can be found at this 150 year old company.
Macy’s began as a drygoods store in the 1850s in Haverhill, Massachusetts by Rowland Hussey Macy, a man with a vision. He soon set his sights on the Big Apple, and moved his business to New York City. Macy imagined a retail emporium that would allow customers to purchase everything they needed all under one roof, all the while receiving impeccable customer service. His dream became a reality when the Macy’s Department Store was born, and the store still values the early commitment to provide shoppers with the most modern and fashionable products, all the while maintaining top-notch service.
Over 800 Macy’s locations are now spread throughout the United States, Guam and Puerto Rico, and the brand prides itself on creating a unique shopping experience in each location. Individual stores are encouraged to stock merchandise that caters specifically to the needs of the demographic in that particular metropolitan area, ensuring a more personalized and enjoyable shopping experience for all.
Throughout the years, Macy’s has grown to be a household name. The company’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which first began in 1924, has since become an annual tradition that draws thousands of spectators along the streets of New York and an additional 44 million viewers watch the parade on television.
Whether shopping for school clothes for the kids, creating a bridal registry for your upcoming wedding, redecorating your home or simply browsing for a new pair of shoes, your local Macy’s is certain to have all you are looking for and so much more.
