Born in New York City, her wedding designs sprung from her own marriage and her desire to celebrate femininity and womanhood.
A fashion editor for Vogue for 16 years before moving onto a job as Design Director for Ralph Lauren, it was only a matter of time before Vera branched off to do her own thing, creating her own label and quickly expanding into fragrance, eyewear, shoes, jewelry and even a housewares collection. In 2007, Vera extended her empire one more time, branching into the more reasonably priced market (all items are in the $20 – $200 price range with sizes 2-16) with “Simply Vera”, carried at Kohl’s stores across the country.
