Looking for fantastic shopping in Chicago? Look no further than The Shops at North Bridge, located near the North Side neighborhood of Chicago on famous Michigan Avenue. This fabulous conglomeration of stores is ensconced in a relic from the early 20th century that has been revamped for the 21st. The only remnant of decades past in the mall’s architecture is the subtle art deco detailing. But one doesn’t visit a mall for ambiance alone-the shopping is the real draw. And The Shops at North Bridge has a marvelous selection of national retailers and specialty stores that will set your pretty little head spinning.
Although the only anchor store in this magnificent Chicago shopping center is Nordstrom, it is four stories tall to compensate for the dearth of additional department stores. What you will find plenty of are women’s apparel retailers. Chic, citified looks can be had at Kenneth Cole, A|X Armani Exchange or BOSS Hugo Boss; for a more bohemian ensemble, try XXI Forever. The brand obsessed will revel in Louis Vuitton’s iconic bags and accessories, while chocolate lovers will find nirvana at Vosges Haut-Chocolat where unusual chocolate pairings like mushrooms and bacon entice adventurous palates.
The Shops at North Bridge boast an above par food court, with nary a fast-food restaurant in sight. Instead, nosh on sushi at Cafe Typhoon Japanese Express, roast beef from Potbelly Sandwich Works or a healthy salad at Mezza Grilled Wraps & Pitas. For a dining experience where real silverware is involved, eat at Buca di Beppo, California Pizza Kitchen or Texas de Brazil. No matter what you choose to eat or where you choose to shop, your experience at The Shops at North Bridge will be one to remember.
